Between 12 and 1 p.m. – The Golden Hour of Midday

IIn Ayurveda, lunchtime is considered the most important meal of the day.
Between 12 and 1 p.m., your inner digestive fire – Agni – burns at its strongest.
During this time, your body can absorb and process food most effectively.

A warm, balanced meal at midday nourishes your body, calms your mind, and brings clarity.
When the body is well nourished, the mind naturally becomes still – a gentle moment of inner balance right in the middle of the day.

Ayurveda – The Art of Living in Harmony

Dr. Hans Heinrich Schrott describes Ayurveda as the “science of life” – a way that teaches us to live in harmony with our own nature.
It’s not about strict rules, but about awareness:

Mindfulness in doing, thinking, and eating.

Every person has a unique constitution – a natural balance of the three doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.
When we understand these energies, we can support ourselves lovingly through rhythm, warmth, calm, and a good dose of enjoyment.

Our Family Solution – Organization with Heart

At some point, meals became a real challenge in our family.
Everyone liked something different, and no one was truly satisfied.
You cook with love, and then someone says, “I don’t like it” – or the kids take a few bites and later make themselves a sandwich.

One day, I had enough and suggested that everyone write down their favorite meals.
It was easy for the others, but surprisingly difficult for me.
I hadn’t asked myself in a long time what I actually like to eat.
That small act of reflection felt like self-care – a reconnection with my own needs and sense of nourishment.

Kitchen with a System – Post-its, Freezer & Weekly Plan

In our basement, we have a large freezer with several drawers.
For each dish or ingredient, there’s a separate Post-it note showing what’s inside and how many portions are left.

When someone takes something out, the number is updated or the note removed.
When something new goes in, we write a new Post-it.
This way, it’s always clear what we have – without chaos or searching.

Whenever we cook, we make a little extra.
What’s left over is portioned and frozen – so that everyone always has at least one favorite meal waiting in the freezer.

Once a week, I sit down to plan our meals:
What supplies do we still have? What should be used up?
Who will be home and needs a warm lunch or dinner?
This gives me a clear overview – and my weekly Knuspr order runs smoothly, relaxed, and efficiently.

This little routine brings both structure and lightness.
Cooking becomes something joyful again – without pressure, without constant improvising.

European Ayurveda – Warm, Simple, and Mindful

European Ayurveda combines the ancient wisdom of India with our modern, Western lifestyle.
It shows that Ayurveda doesn’t have to be exotic – it can start right where you are, with the foods you know and the habits that suit your life.

The heart of it is mindfulness: eat warm, eat regularly, eat in peace.
This strengthens your digestive fire (Agni), gives you energy, and fosters inner balance.

Whether it’s dhal, vegetable risotto, soup, stew, or a simple Ayurvedic curry – what matters is not the recipe, but the energy with which you cook.
When you cook with love, awareness, and calm, your body feels it – and turns each meal into true life energy.

This is the essence of European Ayurveda: warm, simple, mindful, and full of heart.

Ayurveda Begins in Your Kitchen – and in Your Heart

Kitchen and organization don’t have to feel like a burden.
They can be an expression of love and care – for yourself and your family.
When you begin to structure your days with mindfulness and rhythm, you create space for calm, joy, and awareness.

Then your kitchen becomes more than just a place for cooking –
it becomes a place of healing.

From heart to heart,
Yours Sabine
